Manchester Creative Digital Assets (MCDA), the new company responsible for managing and developing Space Studios Manchester, today announce their Chief Executive Officer to lead the growth and development of strategic creative, digital and production sites across Manchester.

Adrian Bleasdale is appointed to the newly created post of CEO for MCDA, joining from his role as Special Projects Director at ITV Studios.

Adrian Bleasdale joins from ITV Studios where he has held a number of senior roles, most recently working across strategic projects for the commercial broadcaster. Adrian oversaw the relocation of Coronation Street to MediaCityUK and the move of the Emmerdale studios after beginning his career in television production where he headed up ITV’s equipment hire business ProVision and post production in Leeds.

MCDA’s current assets include the hugely successful Space Project – Sharp Project and One Central Park. Combined the sites have in excess of 610,000 sq ft of space dedicated to creative, digital and production businesses. Adrian Bleasdale will lead MCDA through the next phase of growth, by developing and physically expanding the assets funded by Manchester City Council to grow the digital, production and creative sectors.

Susan Woodward, Founder of both Space Studios Manchester and The Sharp Project and incoming Chair of MCDA, “Adrian has a track record of business transformation and growth, which is hard to match, this along with his experience and success in large scale project delivery sets him up well for leading Manchester Creative Digital Assets and brilliantly placed to grow the creative and digital sectors in Manchester, along with helping the City of Manchester identify and make further strategic investments in the sector.”

Adrian Bleasdale said, “I’m thrilled to be leading the team at Manchester Creative Digital Assets. There is a very clear vision to further development, support the growth of the creative and digital sectors in the North and contribute to the economic growth of Manchester. With the combination of the award winning Sharp Project, the expansion at Space Studios Manchester, development of One Central Park and further strategic investments we’ll have a fantastic offering here in Manchester.”

Adrian leaves ITV at the end of the year and joins MCDA in January 2017
