How do I check availability or request a quote?
Contact our team through our contact us page with your preferred dates, stage requirements and any supporting spaces you need. We’ll discuss availability and put together an option that works for your production.
Can you accommodate long-term productions?
Yes. Space regularly hosts productions through prep, principal photography and wrap, with stages, offices, workshops and unit-base facilities available together on one site.
Is parking available on site and is it free?
Yes. On-site parking is available and for all cars it is free. We also have dedicated unit-base areas for production vehicles and facilities. Requirements should be discussed with the team when booking.
Who can help with filming permits and locations in Manchester?
Screen Manchester is the city’s screen agency and can support productions with locations, filming permits, highways and traffic management. Its Crew and Facilities Database can also connect productions with locally based crew and suppliers.
Do you provide production crew or equipment?
Space does not directly supply crew or equipment, but Manchester has an experienced network of freelance crew, production businesses and trusted suppliers. We also have 13 production support tenants on site.
We can help point you in the right direction.
Do we have to use your on-site tenants for our production?
No. We are a supplier agnostic site so you can bring your own crew and suppliers, but please feel free to explore our tenants for future opportunities.
Can we arrange a site visit or recce?
Yes. Our team would be happy to show your production team around the stages and supporting facilities. Contact us to arrange a suitable time.
Can I submit a script or production idea to Space?
No. Space Studios Manchester is a studio facility and does not develop or produce content, so we’re unable to accept or review scripts, pitches or production ideas.
Do you offer work experience or placements?
We’re not currently able to offer work experience, placements or studio tours for individuals. Any future opportunities will be shared through our website and social channels.
Do you have security on site?
Yes. We have 24/7 security on site with regular patrols and sitewide CCTV.
Are there any jobs available at Space?
We don’t currently have any vacancies. When opportunities become available, they will be advertised across our official social channels.
How many stages does Space Studios Manchester have?
We have six purpose-built stages, offering flexible options for productions of different sizes. Full dimensions and technical details are available in our stage specifications.
Is the site sustainable?
Yes. We have have solar panels, waste management and ther sustainable initiatives. Please contact the team for support whilst on site.
Can the stages be hired individually?
Yes. Space operates as a dry-hire facility, so productions can book the stage and supporting spaces that best suit their needs.
What does dry hire mean?
Dry hire gives productions the freedom to bring in their own crew, equipment and suppliers. Our team provides the facilities and on-site support needed to help everything run smoothly.
Can we book offices or workshops without hiring a stage?
This is subject to availability. Speak to our team about what you need and we’ll help find the right combination of spaces whether with us or one of our sister sites.
Do you have unit-base facilities?
Yes. We have six dedicated unit-base areas suitable for productions filming both on site and across the region, with space for trailers, technical vehicles and supporting facilities.
Can we use Space as a base while filming on location?
Absolutely. Productions can run their offices and unit base from Space while filming across Manchester and the wider North, keeping their teams and facilities connected.
Where is Space Studios Manchester?
We’re in West Gorton, around 10 minutes from Manchester city centre and within easy reach of the city’s main transport links.
Can we leave vehicles overnight in a stage?
We would need to know the type of vehicles to determine if the vehicle would need to be supervised overnight, please contact the team to find out more.
